2025 Mazingira Bora Innovation Challenge

    The Mazingira Bora challenge empowers students aged 4-17 to become young innovators and change-makers of tomorrow by creatively using their knowledge and skills gained in core competencies.  You'll work in teams to design, build, and test your ideas. Whether you love coding, robotics, the Internet of Things, AI, or experimenting, this is your chance to shine. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this challenge encourages learners to be champions of a clean environment by exploring  Affordable & Clean Energy and Clean Water & Sanitation solutions for schools and communities they live in.
    Who can participate/attend?
    The challenge is open to;
    Schools - All schools within Nairobi Metropolis in the following counties (Nairobi City, Kiambu, Machakos, & Kajiado). If you are outside these regions, please contact us for more information.
    Educators - Teachers who want to mentor participants to bring real-world problem-solving skills and explore technological trends in AI, IoT, and Robotics in the STEM FEST section.
    Students - Both in Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and International Curricula. Ages 4-17 Years.
    Parents/Guardians - Attend panel discussions, cheer participants, and explore STEM FEST 2025.

    •Apart from competing, learners get entry to ElimuTab STEM FEST 2025, which will ignite curiosity and spark a deeper interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

    •Working in teams fosters communication, cooperation, and the ability to share ideas effectively.
    •The challenge provides a space for students to explore their creativity and develop unique solutions.
    •The challenge enables learners to gain hands-on experience in coding, programming, engineering, and other STEM-related skills.
    •Participants learn to articulate their ideas and present their projects to judges and peers.
    •Participants will be awarded certificates and medals, and winning teams will get trophies.

    The event will be held on 1st -2nd August 2025 at Strathmore University.

    We value every participant, and our judges will be selected to ensure your innovation and participation is rewarded.
